This page is not a snapshot. The figures are recalculated every time it loads, using the Asia/Karachi time zone, so tomorrow the count will be one day smaller. If you bookmark the page you will always see the current gap rather than the number that was true on the day you saved it, and nobody has to edit anything for that to stay correct.

Planning around the date

For work and school planning the useful numbers are working days and weekends. Between today and Thanksgiving there are 40 weekdays (Monday to Friday), 8 Saturdays and 8 Sundays. Take out public holidays in your region and you have a realistic count of working days left. If you are paid every two weeks, expect about 4 paydays before then, and about 8 if you are paid weekly.

Some people prefer to break a long wait into stages. The quarter mark of the range is Thursday, October 15, 2026, the halfway point is Thursday, October 29, 2026, and the three-quarter mark is Thursday, November 12, 2026. By the time Thanksgiving arrives, 90.4% of 2026 will have gone by. There are 8 Fridays in the range, which is handy if your deadlines or deliveries land at the end of the week.

About Thanksgiving

U.S. Thanksgiving, fixed by federal law to the fourth Thursday of November. As a U.S. observance, Thanksgiving affects federal offices, banks, the postal service and many schools, so people often check the date well in advance to book travel, arrange time off or plan around closures.

Thanksgiving follows a weekday rule: the 4th Thursday of November, so the calendar date moves within a fixed seven-day window each year.

Thanksgiving in other years

In the coming years Thanksgiving falls on: Thursday, November 25, 2027 (420 days from today); Thursday, November 23, 2028 (784 days from today); Thursday, November 22, 2029 (1,148 days from today); Thursday, November 28, 2030 (1,519 days from today). Last year it fell on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Comparing the weekdays shows how the holiday drifts through the week, which matters when you plan long weekends, school breaks and travel that depends on which day of the week it lands.

What comes next

The next major date after Thanksgiving is Black Friday on Friday, November 27, 2026, 1 days later. If you are planning a stretch of several weeks, it helps to know where the next break or deadline falls so you can space out your commitments.

Thanksgiving: last time, next time and next year

The most recent Thanksgiving was Thursday, November 27, 2025, 308 days ago (44 weeks); the next one is Thursday, November 26, 2026, 56 days from today (8 weeks); the same date next year, Thursday, November 25, 2027, is 420 days from today (60 weeks). These results move forward on their own: once a date has passed, the page switches to the next occurrence, so the same address stays correct in every year and you never need to look for a year-specific page. The table under the key figures lists the same dates with their weekdays.

Using this weekend counter

Weekends are the natural unit for people who plan trips, projects and home improvements in their free time. Each Saturday between today and the target date counts as one weekend, so a target that lands on a Saturday counts itself.
