Days Until Calculator

Today's date and what is coming up

Today is Thursday, October 1, 2026, and this calculator works in the Asia/Karachi time zone. Looking ahead, the nearest big dates are Halloween on Saturday, October 31 (30 days); Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26 (56 days); Black Friday on Friday, November 27 (57 days); Christmas on Friday, December 25 (85 days); New Year on Friday, January 1 (92 days); Valentine's Day on Sunday, February 14 (136 days). Every number in this list is recomputed when the page loads, so it will always describe the coming days rather than the day the page was written.

How to use it

Pick a date in the box above, or open one of the ready-made pages for a holiday, a year, or a number of days from today. The result shows the count in days, the exact date, the day of the week and a full breakdown in weeks, months, hours and working days. Nothing is stored and nothing needs a login; the answer is calculated on the spot from today's date.

Counting in days is the most flexible view. It suits deadlines, trips, exam dates, pregnancy milestones and product launches, because a day is the smallest unit most calendars use. The day count on this page includes weekends, so subtract weekends and holidays if you only care about working time. For a rounder feel, try the weeks view; for a long horizon, try months.

Quick date reference

Some counts come up again and again, so here they are worked out from today: 7 days from today is Thursday, October 8, 2026; 14 days from today is Thursday, October 15, 2026; 30 days from today is Saturday, October 31, 2026; 60 days from today is Monday, November 30, 2026; 90 days from today is Wednesday, December 30, 2026; 180 days from today is Tuesday, March 30, 2027; 365 days from today is Friday, October 1, 2027. If you need the same answer next week, come back and the dates will have moved along with today's date.

Why countdown pages need to be live

A number typed into a page goes out of date the next day. A calendar rule does not. That is why dates like Easter, Ramadan, Diwali or the fourth Thursday of November are computed from their rules for the year you ask about, and why each holiday page also has a year version, so you can compare 2026 with 2027 or plan several years ahead.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Days Until calculator do?

It counts the days between today and the date you choose, using your site's local calendar, and shows the exact date and weekday.

Does it include today in the count?

No. Tomorrow is one day away. The count starts from today's date and ends on the target date, so the target date itself is the final day.

Can I count to a holiday?

Yes. Every major holiday has its own page, and each page has year versions so you can look at next year's date as well.

Does it work for dates in the past?

Yes. When a date has already passed, the page switches to counting how long ago it was.

Are weekends included in the count?

The main figure counts every calendar day. The breakdown also shows working days and weekends separately.

How does it handle leap years?

Leap days are counted automatically, because the calculation uses real calendar dates rather than a fixed 365-day year.

Do I need to refresh the page?

The numbers are recalculated whenever the page loads, so a reload always gives the current answer.

Which time zone is used?

Your own time zone. The page detects it from your device (it is Asia/Karachi right now); if your browser does not share it, the site's default time zone is used until it does.

Can I bookmark a countdown?

Yes. Each holiday, date and year has its own address, so the bookmark always opens the live count.

Where do the holiday dates come from?

They are calculated from each holiday's rule: fixed dates, weekday rules such as the fourth Thursday, and astronomical or lunar calendars for holidays like Easter and Diwali.

Why is the result different from another site?

Sites sometimes include or exclude the start day, or use a different time zone. This calculator excludes today and counts to midnight at the start of the target date in your own time zone, detected from your device.

Is there a version in weeks or months?

Yes. Use the links on this page to switch between days, weeks, months, weekends, sleeps and fortnights for the same date.
